Unique capability puts information for making more effective equipment and maintenance decisions in the right place at the right time

Glen Allen, Virginia/Tampa, Florida – February 20, 2012 – Decisiv, Inc., the provider of an advanced web-based technology designed to connect fleet managers with internal and external service locations, today announced at the Technology & Maintenance Council 2012 Annual Meeting & Exhibition a new, Service Index for fleet users of the Decisiv Service Management Platform. Developed by Decisiv’s Consulting and Business Intelligence Group, the Service Index tracks downtime for equipment, enabling trucking operations to benchmark operations and make more informed and effective decisions to enhance equipment utilization and lower costs.

“Fleets continue to experience an exponential increase in maintenance costs,” said Dick Hyatt, president of Decisiv. “The new Decisiv Service Index can drill down into data on service networks and practices. It can define, anticipate, track and assess sources of downtime, and foster communication that leads to proactive solutions. The index can help determine why costs are high or productivity and utilization are low, compare a fleet’s maintenance programs to others in the industry, and reinforce the value of high performing equipment and service providers.”

The Decisiv Service Index incorporates a Downtime Clock that codes each service event by electronically time stamping the process and tracking the progress of outside vendors and internal shops handling planned or unplanned maintenance, and all types of repairs. This information can be used to develop an objective scale that tracks downtime and compares the performance of service vendors and locations, in-house shops, technicians, and vehicles by OEM, group or type, and system and component specifications.

“The Decisiv Service Index leads to more effective management of service and repair events by addressing the impact of downtime on maintenance and operating costs, equipment decisions, and driver retention and customer satisfaction,” said Jack Porter, senior consultant at Decisiv. “Our Consulting and Business Intelligence Group, which works closely with our fleet customers, developed the index by working with data in the Decisiv Service Management Platform. As a result, the Service Index uses timely and valuable information to provide a means of evaluating maintenance programs and practices, and addressing operational methods and business solution needs.”

Glen Allen, Virginia – January 3, 2012 – Decisiv, Inc., the provider of an advanced web-based technology designed to connect fleet managers with internal and external service locations, today announced that the total number of service events handled on the Decisiv Service Management Platform since the beginning of 2010 now exceeds 630,000 cases.

“The rapidly growing use of the Decisiv Service Management Platform by fleets and service locations is occurring across all networks and versions of our cloud based solution,” said Dick Hyatt, president of Decisiv. “With the platform, users, including fleet, service location, mobile service and OEM call center personnel, can all share information and effectively communicate throughout a service event, all within a single web portal.
The volume of service business handled on the Decisiv platform in the past two years topped 630,000 cases one week before the end of 2011. In 2010, platform users recorded over 275,000 service events. Continued growth in fleet usage has brought the number of assets loaded onto the platform to more than 150,000. Decisiv now has over 175 fleets and 500 service locations on the platform.

The Decisiv Service Management Platform was developed in close partnership with many of North America’s top truck and component manufacturers and service networks, and Decisiv has continually added new features to all versions of the solution. The platform is currently in use as MVASIST at Volvo Trucks North America and Mack Trucks dealers, as the WheelTime Customer Service Platform (WCSP) at WheelTime Network Detroit Diesel-Allison distributors, as Prevost.ASIST at Prevost repair facilities and as the Decisiv Service Management Platform at Freightliner dealers and other service locations.

Glen Allen, Virginia – November 28, 2011 – Decisiv, Inc., the provider of an advanced web-based technology designed to connect fleet managers with internal and external service locations, today announced that continued growth in fleet usage of the Decisiv Service Management Platform has brought the number of assets loaded onto the platform to 150,000. Currently, Decisiv has 175 fleets and more than 500 service locations on the platform. Growing demand has also enabled the company to expand its staff.

“The unified in-context communications capability of the Decisiv Service Management Platform means fleet, service location, mobile service and OEM call center personnel can all access and respond to the same information about a service event at the same time,” said Dick Hyatt, president of Decisiv. “The open, flexible nature of the platform is providing a solution for hundreds of fleets and resulting in a steady and rapidly growing number of assets being added to the platform on a regular basis.”

To meet the needs of its growing customer base, Decisiv has added to its development and support staffs. In addition, Jack Phelps has become the newest member of the company’s Fleet Business Development team and is now serving as Central Region Territory Manager.

Phelps was most recently the Director of Service Parts Operations for Autocar, a manufacturer of Class 8, severe service, low cab forward truck chassis. Previously he was Director of Fixed Operations at Pozzo Truck Center in Gary, Indiana, a Mack, Volvo, and Mitsubishi truck dealer where he was responsible for all parts and service operations. Earlier in his career Phelps held management roles at Transcom USA, a 100 location, heavy-duty aftermarket truck and trailer parts distributor and repair service provider, and he successfully built and ran Phelps Holding Company, a parts distribution, manufacturing, rebuilding and repair service organization with 11 locations in Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio.

On an industry level, Phelps has been a member of the Board of Directors and served as president of the Council of Fleet Specialists (CFS) and the Service Specialists Association (SSA). He also served as a board member of the Heavy Duty Distributors Association (HDDA) and the Automotive Parts Rebuilders Association (APRA).

“I had early experience with the Decisiv platform at a truck dealership and knew it was a valuable tool for fleets and service locations,” Phelps said. “With the evolution of the platform into a comprehensive management and communications solution, the platform has become a true game changing technology. When I decided to use my experience to help develop and grow a company that helps fleets and service locations, Decisiv topped my list.”

Service Management Scorecard improves customer satisfaction

Glen Allen, Virginia – September 23, 2011 – Decisiv, Inc., the provider of an advanced web-based technology designed to connect fleet managers with internal and external service locations, has introduced the Decisiv Service Management Scorecard. Designed for service location and fleet users of the Decisiv Service Management Platform (DSMP), the scorecard is a highly effective tool for managing the performance of service personnel.

“The Decisiv Service Management Scorecard focuses on the people involved in the service management process, including service advisors and managers, shop foremen and breakdown managers,” said Pete Russo, vice president, Professional Services and Customer Support at Decisiv. “The scorecard helps improve performance by providing objective measures of key indicators directly related to customer satisfaction. This tool is already proving very valuable to fleets and service locations across the numerous networks that use the DSMP.”

Decisiv’s Service Management Scorecard measures performance in four areas:

Communication – Are fleet and service location personnel communicating via the DSMP about service events?

Use of eFolder – Are fleet and service location personnel attaching all documentation about a service event, making it visible in the DSMP?

Fleet Requests – Are fleet and service location personnel sending service requests to service locations, and are service locations accepting these service requests via the DSMP?

Responsiveness – Are fleet and service location personnel responding to requests in the DSMP?

The Decisiv Service Management Scorecard provides measures on a monthly basis (as a percentage of the total number of service events) at multiple levels. For fleets, performance is measured by terminal or sub-fleet, by person, such as terminal managers, fleet managers or breakdown managers, or by internal and external service location. For service locations, the scorecard measures the performance of a service network, dealer or distributor group, or individual service location, by person or shift, such as service managers, service advisors, shop foremen, day shift, night shift, or by fleet customer. Benchmarking data can also be provided for a specific group, against best-in-class peers, or compared to a national or group average.

Decisiv also offers a range of consulting, training and support services to fleets and service providers interested in rapid improvement of their performance scores.

Ready integration of telematics devices and a scope of applications greatly simplify the service management process

Glen Allen, Virginia – May 18, 2011– Decisiv, Inc., the provider of an advanced technology that connects fleet managers with internal and external service locations, today announced that it has expanded the capabilities of the Decisiv Service Management Platform (DSMP) to more readily integrate telematics devices and a growing and broad scope of applications from third party developers.

“Service locations and fleet managers are inundated with information from multiple portals, web sites and information sources,” said Dick Hyatt, president of Decisiv. “With today’s solutions, silos of data and systems are now web-based. The technology may be different but the result is the same. By partnering with a broad and growing ecosystem of partners, and by seamlessly integrating with third party and OEM applications, including accessing real time information from telematics devices, Decisiv’s DSMP provides an in-context service initiation and management solution that greatly simplifies the service management process.”

Decisiv has enabled DSMP to provide real-time alerts and information from telematics devices. Included are location, mileage, engine hours, fault code and other relevant data, which is then used in the platform to open service events and initiate requests to service locations. In addition, telematics driven in-context information is used to trigger repair and maintenance operations, and to populate the platform’s date/time stamped electronic folder with fault codes and vehicle information so it can be attached to a service event. The Decisiv DSMP electronic folder also includes alerts and responses, photos and documents, estimates and invoices, and the results of truck, tractor and trailer inspections.

For application providers, Decisiv has developed integration guidelines to exchange real time information to and from third party and OEM systems, including warranty information, recalls and service bulletins, as well as access to parts catalogs. Decisiv has also defined integration points to support payment processing and accounting systems.

Decisiv continues to add to its specifications for accessing and receiving information from telematics devices, third party and OEM applications, and works with its partners to test and deploy points of integration so DSMP users can benefit from seamless integration with those applications.

Decisiv’s cloud based service management platform, unified communications capabilities and extensive ecosystem of integration partners is redefining the way service is managed to the benefit of its partners and fleet customers.

Glen Allen, Virginia – April 14, 2011– Decisiv, Inc., the provider of an advanced technology that connects fleet managers with internal and external service locations, today announced that the use of its DecisivConnect social media channels is growing rapidly. The new communications forums are leading to faster resolution of problems and to more rapid development and deployment of new features and enhancements to products.

The various social media channels of communication under DecisivConnect include a Blog with Insights, News and Power User sections, and Twitter and Facebook pages. DecisvConnect’s growth since it’s launch in mid February includes more than 750 visitors compared to approximately 20 users that visited traditional web pages. In addition, per visit social media channel users opened more than six web pages, staying over two and half minutes. Traditional site visits are mostly to a single page and can be measured in seconds.

“We launched DecisivConnect to coordinate our communications activities,” said Dick Hyatt, president of Decisiv. “We are embracing social media channels to reach out to technology partners, fleets, service providers, manufacturers and the media. Those conversations are helping us develop customer driven solutions and drive improvements in how trucks, trailers and related assets are serviced and maintained. These open, comprehensive forms of communication are essential to collectively bringing about positive and constructive changes that will benefit everyone.”

New capabilities provide fleets and service locations with full access to vehicle service events through a variety of handheld devices

Glen Allen, Virginia – April 13, 2011– Decisiv, Inc., the provider of an advanced technology that connects fleet managers with internal and external service locations, today announced it has enabled the application of the Decisiv Service Management Platform (DSMP) on email-enabled handheld devices. The application of the fully integrated platform in the field means fleets and service locations can share in context information about a service event and move forward more effectively with timely repairs.

“Participants in the service event management process are mobile, even within their own facilities in yards and service bays,” said Dick Hyatt, president of Decisiv. “Unthethering platform users during a service event can save both time and money for fleets and service providers. Enabling the use of the cloud computing based Decisiv Service Management Platform anywhere, any time and on any device is one of a growing list of ways we are supporting more effective unified communication.”

Available using 3G and Wi-Fi networks on any handheld that is capable of sending and receiving email– including Android, Blackberry, IPhone, Palm and Windows Mobile devices, and tablet PCs– the DSMP can be used in remote locations to communicate and access details about vehicle service events.

The mobile application of the Decisiv Service Management Platform is designed to address the disjointed nature of email-based communication. The shared information and communication can include receiving alerts and sending responses, attaching photos and documents, and results of inspections. All of the in-context information is captured in a threaded, date/time stamped attachment.

Two primary uses of the DSMP on handheld devices include check-in and inspection applications. Service advisors and technicians can use this capability to initiate and/or update a service write-up at vehicle check-in or perform an inspection on a mobile device. The inspection and check-in applications are independent of each other. As such, they can be installed on the same or different mobile devices for use at the service desk or in the shop for vehicle check-in, and in the shop or on service vehicles for inspections.

By extending the full capability of the DSMP to handheld devices, Decisiv is enabling fleets and service locations to communicate more effectively and take full advantage of all the capabilities of the platform to get trucks back on the road.

Expansion of Decisiv Service Management Platform’s cloud-based computing technology approach brings MOTOR labor time data to fleet maintenance managers and service providers

Glen Allen, Virginia – February 15, 2011 – Decisiv, Inc., the provider of an advanced technology designed to connect fleet managers with internal and external service locations, today announced that the Decisiv Service Management Platform now incorporates labor operations data from MOTOR Information Systems. The labor modules that are now integrated under Decisiv’s cloud-based computing technology approach further the availability of in-context information in the Decisiv solution for fleets.

“We are pleased to add MOTOR’s aftermarket labor times to the Decisiv Service Management Platform and MOTOR Information Systems to our network of partners,” said Dick Hyatt, president of Decisiv. “The addition of MOTOR labor operations represents the latest step in our continuing effort to place accurate in-context vehicle information in the hands of fleets and service providers, and simplify and improve the timeliness and accuracy of the service management process.”

The Decisiv platform uses advanced cloud-based computing technology to deliver MOTOR’s extensive labor operations data at the point of service. Fleet and service provider customers benefit from advanced search capabilities to find, select and incorporate fully validated MOTOR labor operations during maintenance, inspections and repairs and to verify compliance with the agreed-upon time allocation.

By incorporating MOTOR labor time data into the Decisiv platform, fleets can access web-based information on over 4,000 labor operations for all makes of trucks through the 2010 model year. This new capability from Decisiv is available on all OEM platforms offered by the company at the discretion of individual service networks.

Sourced electronically, the labor time data is automatically coded using ATA’s TMC VEHICLE MAINTENANCE REPORTING STANDARDS™ (VMRS™). Created by The Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) of the American Trucking Associations® (ATA®), VMRS is the universal language of the trucking industry’s maintenance management and reporting systems that enables dealer and fleet systems to share data in a format customers prefer and understand.

“Our data modules can save fleet and maintenance managers time and money,” said Kevin Carr, president of MOTOR Information Systems. “Our partnership with Decisiv will help customers get their trucks back on the road faster. We look forward to working together on this and other projects in the future.”

Decisiv’s agreement with MOTOR is the framework for a broad-ranging relationship that will eventually extend beyond labor time data. MOTOR provides a range of ready-to-use software and data modules under the FleetCross product label and maintains the largest and most extensive “ALL-MAKES” parts database and cross-reference in the industry. MOTOR’s customizable parts and service referencing systems for vehicles and equipment are utilized by both fleet and parts sales organizations throughout the medium- and heavy-duty truck industry.
