Decisiv Platform Now Standard
Mack Trucks and Volvo Trucks North America now include the Decisiv-built service management platform with every new truck purchase
Glen Allen, Virginia – March 5, 2012 – Decisiv, Inc., the provider of an advanced web-based technology designed to connect fleet managers with internal and external service locations, today announced that Mack Trucks, Inc. and Volvo Truck Trucks North America are providing Decisiv-built service management platforms at no charge with all new truck purchases. At Mack Trucks, the game-changing fleet service management platform developed by Decisiv is called MVASIST. At Volvo Trucks, the ASIST platform is the cornerstone of the Volvo Trucks Support Services offering.
“The Decisiv service management platforms developed for Mack Trucks and Volvo Trucks allow fleets to improve communications, manage costs, reduce downtime and increase operating efficiency,” said Dick Hyatt, president of Decisiv. “Through an online portal, customers are able to communicate more effectively and efficiently with dealers, initiate repairs, access a complete service history, approve and monitor repair status and manage repair expenses. Working together in real time allows fleet managers, service providers and dealers to expedite repairs and maximize uptime.”
Decisiv’s innovative web-based service management tool is used by Mack and Volvo customers to communicate more effectively with dealers and service providers. Fleets can receive electronic estimates, approve repairs and issue purchase orders on the platform, regardless of the vehicle’s location. The online tool also allows the customer to monitor vehicle status online, communicate directly with the dealer and maintain an electronic folder of service activities. Consolidating all maintenance events and communication in one tool also eliminates invoice and repair surprises.
Mack and Volvo service providers use the MVASIST and ASIST platforms to provide consistent, complete, professional estimates. The system also delivers fleet and vehicle-specific information, including a customer profile and warranty coverage. The Decisiv-built solutions allow for proactive planning and scheduling of routine inspections and service. One Mack customer, for example, has customized the MVASIST service platform to automatically recommend an inspection of tires, lights and safety equipment whenever one of its tractors is at a dealer for service work.
The Volvo Trucks ASIST platform is part of a newly announced bundle of truck support services that includes Volvo Action Service 24/7 roadside assistance. Customers can initiate a repair event online and communicate with the dealer and Volvo Action Service using the real-time fleet service management platform.
“We are excited to offer MVASIST at no cost to our customers who purchase a new Mack truck,” said John Walsh, Mack vice president, marketing. “This offer is evidence of our commitment to providing customers with the tools they need to more efficiently and effectively do their job.”
Volvo Trucks Support Services is designed to simplify ownership and improve efficiency and flexibility. “Bundling can help protect assets, improve operational efficiency, offer a ‘one-stop shop’ for service and parts information and provide the fleet options to manage costs,” said David Pardue, Volvo Trucks vice president, aftermarket solutions. “Volvo Trucks Support Services provides all of these advantages while simplifying truck operation and maintenance.”
Mack Trucks, Inc. and Volvo Trucks North America are part of the Volvo Group, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of trucks, buses and construction equipment, drive systems for marine and industrial applications, aerospace components and services, and is one of the world’s leading producers of heavy-diesel engines (9-16 liter). The Group also provides complete solutions for financing and service. The Volvo Group, which employs nearly 118,000 people, has production facilities in 19 countries and sells their products in more than 180 markets. Volvo Group sales for 2011 amounted to $47.8 billion. The Volvo Group is a publicly-held company headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden. Volvo Shares are listed on Nasdaq OMX Nordic Exchange and are traded OTC in the U.S. For more information about MVASIST AND ASIST, visit www.macktrucks.com and www.volvotrucks.us.com.
