Fleets, OEMs and service providers are increasingly relying on advanced technologies to make truck maintenance more efficient and cost effective.
This came into sharp focus at this year’s TMC Annual Meeting & TransportationTechnology Exhibition. At the exhibition, manufacturers and technology companies came to showcase their latest innovations designed to help fleets get more value from their assets.
During the meeting, we were thrilled to make two major announcements: an update to our Service Relationship Management (SRM) platform-as-a-service that will enable fleets, OEMs, lessors and service providers to use data more easily and effectively, and the publication of a new whitepaperon how to get even more value from VMRS codes.
Enhanced Visualization of Service and Repair Data
As the trucking industry has embraced using data to drive uptime and lower costs, a new struggle has emerged: How can fleets, manufacturers and service providers more easily understand and gain value from all the data at their disposal?
Visualization has been proven to be an effective way to sort through data, identify patterns and explore information more deeply. At TMC, we were pleased to announce Insite 2.0, a visualization platform that adds even more value to Decisiv’s already robust platform-as-a-service (PaaS) infrastructure.
With this advancement, users of our SRM platform will gain an interactive ability to:
- Visually filter service and repair data by location, repair type and other attributes
- Identify outliers in the data
- Take corrective actions to improve service and repair performance
- Analyze performance, compliance and other actionable information
By partnering with Tibco® Jaspersoft and Amazon Redshift petabyte-scale data warehouse technologies, we’re enabling SRM users to take advantage of new levels of business intelligence, analytics and reporting directly through the platform.
Insite 2.0 is currently being pilot tested by several SRM customers, and will expand to all platform users in the second quarter of 2017.
Expanding the Value of VMRS
As new technologies emerge throughout the trucking and transportation industries, a valuable coding system dating back to the 1970s continues to be underutilized.
VMRS helps fleets, service providers and manufacturers communicate more effectively and understand their assets more clearly. However, too many people in the industry continue to think of VMRS as merely a set of nine-digit component codes, which are actually just a fraction of the codes in the system.
In our new whitepaper VMRS: The Next Level, we explore how you can dig more deeply into VMRS by improving your understanding of the coding convention’s vast number of code keys.
VMRS: The Next Level offers detailed, actionable information on various code keys and how you can use them to improve communications, operations and profitability. While technologies like the Decisiv SRM platform make it so you don’t have to memorize codes, this guide will provide you with the information you need to experience the many benefits VMRS has to offer.

Driving Truck Maintenance Forward with Data and Analytics
Keeping your maintenance, service and repair operations efficient and profitable increasingly requires a strong emphasis on collecting and learning from data. Between the new visualization capabilities in the Decisiv SRM platform and the organization enabled by VMRS codes, you have the tools you need to keep your fleet on the cutting edge.
